Chess Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    yellow cake mix with pudding
    1 stick butter
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 box confectioners sugar
    1/2 c. nuts
    1 (1 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
Preparation
    Mix cake mix and softened butter.
    Press into a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Top with nuts.
    Mix the remaining ingredients and pour over the top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Let it cool, then cut into squares.
