Layered Vegetable Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce, torn
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
    1/2 c. purple onion, sliced
    1 pkg. frozen green peas, slightly thawed
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 lb. bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
Preparation
    In a large serving bowl, layer first 5 ingredients.
    Mix mayonnaise and sugar together and spread over vegetables. Sprinkle cheese and bacon over this.
    Chill 4 to 6 hours.
