Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 sweet potatoes/yams
    1/4 c. butter/margarine
    1/2 c. dark corn syrup
    2 Tbsp. water
    1/4 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Wash potatoes.
    Cook in boiling water 15 minutes.
    Remove from heat; cool.
    Peel.
    Cut in half lengthwise.
    Place butter, corn syrup, water and brown sugar in heavy skillet (I use cast-iron). Arrange potatoes on top, cut side down.
    Cook over very low heat, basting occasionally, for 1 hour until tender and well glazed. Serves 6.
