Butternut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 c. self-rising flour
2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
1 c. sweet milk
2 c. plain flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. butternut flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening, butter and sugar; add eggs and flavorings, beating after each egg.
Add 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup milk; beat, then add last 2 cups of flour and remaining milk.
Bake in tube pan at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour.
