Ms. Icie'S Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. self-rising corn meal
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1 large egg
    2 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease skillet or muffin pan.
    Place corn meal in large mixing bowl.
    Stir egg and milk into the same bowl.
    Mix these ingredients very well.
    Add vegetable oil and sugar.
    Stir until batter is pourable.
    Pour batter into prepared skillet or pan.
    Bake for 35 minutes or top surface is golden brown.
    Yields 8 servings per mixture.
