Chow Mein Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. boneless pork, cubed
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    5 oz. can water chestnuts, sliced and drained
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. chopped celery
    3/4 c. uncooked long grain rice
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Brown pork in shortening in skillet.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Place in 2-quart casserole and cover.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Remove cover during last 30 minutes.
    Add additional water if necessary.
    Add chow mein noodles to top for the last 5 minutes.
