2 c. flour (self-rising)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. soft margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. canned pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Sift flour and measure 2 cups, sift again with salt and cinnamon and set aside.
