Fruit Cocktail Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 (No. 303) can fruit cocktail
    2 c. flour
    1/2 Tbsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix first 4 ingredients with mixer.
    Sift together flour, salt and soda.
    Blend the two mixtures and pour into a greased and floured oblong pan.
    Sprinkle brown sugar and nuts over mixtures. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
