9-Day Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    30 (4 to 5-inch) cucumbers
    2 qt. vinegar
    1/4 c.salt
    15 c. sugar (okay to use 13 c.)
    1/4 c. mixed pickling spice (place spices in cheesecloth)
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over cucumbers for 4 days.
    Drain well each time.
    On fifth day, make syrup and pour over for 4 days, drain and bring to boil each day.
    Can pickles ninth day.
