Maple-Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk
    2/3 c. light corn syrup
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 c. pecan pieces
    2 tsp. maple flavoring
Preparation
    Combine
    sugar,
    milk,
    syrup,
    margarine
    and
    cream of tartar in
    a Dutch oven;
    heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Stir in pecan pieces; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally,
    until
    mixture
    reaches
    soft ball stage (236\u00b0). Remove from heat,
    stir in flavoring.
    Beat with a wooden spoon 5 to 8 minutes or
    until
    the mixture is creamy and begins to thicken. Working
    rapidly,
    drop
    by
    rounded
    tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper; let cool.
    Yields 2 dozen.
