Mexican Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/3 c. melted shortening
    8 oz. carton sour cream
    1 can cream-style corn
    2 eggs
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    4 oz. can mild green chilies, chopped
Preparation
    Combine cornmeal, salt and baking soda.
    Add shortening, sour cream, corn and eggs. Spoon 1/2 of batter in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Sprinkle with cheese and chilies.
    Cover with remaining batter.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
