Smothered Liver And Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef liver
    1 cup flour
    1/4 cup shortening
    1 large onion
    3 cups hot water
Preparation
    Salt, pepper and flour liver.
    Place in heated shortening and brown on both sides.
    Add sliced onion and hot water.
    Simmer for 1 hour or until tender.
