Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 slices bacon
    3 onions
    1 green pepper
    2 cans tomatoes
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. chili powder
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 1/4 c. rice
    6 c. water
Preparation
    Cook rice in 6 cups water.
    Cook bacon; brown onions in bacon fat until light brown.
    Drain rice and mix with ingredients.
    Put in greased casserole dish.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes; then turn down heat to 350\u00b0 and bake 20 minutes more.
