Candy Date Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. white syrup
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 small pkg. (8 oz.) dates
    4 Tbsp. margarine
    2 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
    1 box powdered sugar
Preparation
    Cook together first 5 ingredients until thick, stirring constantly.
    Remove from fire.
    Cool 10 minutes.
    Add margarine and pecans.
    Stir in vanilla and salt.
    Pour into a mound of powdered sugar and knead until a roll can be formed.
    Roll in waxed paper.
    Slice when hardened.
