Apple-Onion-Prune Skillet - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    4 medium onions, peeled and quartered
    2 medium (3/4 lb.) cooking apples, cut in eighths and cored
    8 pitted prunes, cut up
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy skillet; add onions and saute, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes or until golden brown.
    Add apples, prunes and seasonings.
    Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes or until apples and onions are tender.
    Serve hot with sausage, roast pork, pork chops or ham.
    Makes 4 servings.
