Banana Liqueur - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium bananas peeled
    1 tsp. vanilla extract or 2-inch vanilla bean
    3 c. vodka
    1 c. simple syrup (made with 1 part water, 2 parts sugar- boiled for about 5 minutes)
Preparation
    Mash the bananas and add the vanilla and cooled simple syrup to the vodka.
    Shake gently.
    Steep at least 1 week.
    Strain and filter.
    It can be enjoyed now, but if left for 2 or 3 months it will have a richer flavor.
