Hungarian Goulash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
2 lb. beef, cut in 1-inch cubes
    1/4 to 1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic
    3/4 c. catsup
    2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    2 tsp. paprika
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    red pepper to taste
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 c. water
    3 c. egg noodles
Preparation
Melt shortening in large skillet; add onions, garlic and beef. Cook and stir until browned; stir in catsup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, paprika, mustard, pepper and 1 1/2 cups of water.
Cover; simmer 2 hours (I use round steak; it will become tender if simmered for 2 hours).
Blend flour slowly with 1/4 cup water; stir gradually into meat mixture until thickened, 1 minute.
    Serve over noodles.
    Serves 4 to 6.
