Frosted Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. lemon jello
    2 c. boiling water
    2 c. ginger ale
    1 (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, drained
    3 large bananas
    1 c. miniature marshmallows
Preparation
    Dissolve jello in
    boiling
    water
    and\tthen add ginger ale. Add bananas, pineapple and marshmallows.
    Let set.\tMake topping by combining 1/2
    cup
    sugar
    and 2 tablespoons flour. Stir in 1 cup pineapple
    juice
    and
    1
    egg (slightly beaten). Cook in double boiler until
    thick.
    When
    cool, fold in 1 cup Cool Whip and frost over
    lemon
    layer.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup shredded American cheese, if desired.
