Shoo-Fly Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. hot water
1 c. molasses
1 Tbsp. baking soda
whipped cream (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Spray 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan with Pam cooking spray or grease with Crisco or butter.
Mix together flour, sugar, salt and butter in a bowl.
Use a pastry blender or 2 knives until you have crumbs.
Reserve 3/4 cup crumbs for topping. In a medium bowl, mix water, molasses and baking soda.
Add to the flour mixture, mixing well.
Pour into baking pan.
Top with reserved crumbs.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes.
Serve with cream, if desired.
