Butterscotch Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. or 1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch pieces
    2/3 c. butter or oleo
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    2 c. brown sugar
    4 eggs
    2 c. unsifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Melt butterscotch pieces and shortening together. Stir in the sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, beating well after each addition. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
    Use a 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
