Can'T Fail Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. corn syrup
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. whole milk
    1 c. butter (not oleo)
    2 tsp. vanilla
    nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cook all ingredients except vanilla, slowly, stirring constantly.
    Cook to medium soft ball stage (240\u00b0).
    Remove from heat; add vanilla and nuts, if desired.
    Pour into buttered pan (9 x 13-inch).
    Mark squares and wrap in waxed paper.
