Peggy Mann Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 can apple pie filling
    2 c. plain flour (I use Red Band)
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 1/2 c. raisins or currants
    1 1/2 c. white raisins
    2 c. candied cherries
    2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Melt in saucepan the butter, sugar and apple pie filling. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
    Mix together the fruit and nuts.
    Sift together the dry ingredients over the fruit and nuts.
    Mix until they are well coated.
    Fold in pie filling mixture and mix thoroughly.
    Bake in tube pan for 1 1/2 hours, or until done in a preheated 325\u00b0 oven.
    Wrap in foil when cold.
    May be eaten soon, or will keep for 3 or 4 weeks.
