"Mountain" Fried Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    double pie crust
    deep fat
    stewed (dried fruit) apples
    sugar to taste
    nutmeg or cinnamon to taste
Preparation
    Roll crust on a floured board.
    Cut with a large cookie cutter.
    Put 1 1/2 tablespoons sweetened, mashed, cooked fruit in each round.
    Moisten edges with cold water and fold to make semi-circle; press edges together with a fork.
    Fry in hot deep fat and drain well on paper towels when crispy brown.
    Great on cold winter days or just anytime.
