Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. plus 6 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. water
1/4 tsp. red food coloring
3 Tbsp. white corn syrup (Karo)
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 pt. strawberries
1 baked pie shell

Preparation

Bring to boil sugar, Karo and 3/4 cup water.
Dissolve the starch in the 1/4 cup water.
Add food coloring.
Add to boiling mixture and stir until clear and thick.
Cool.
Spread a thin layer in cooked pie shell.
Put in fresh whole berries; put rest of glaze over berries.
Top with whipped cream.
