Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry green split peas
    8 c. cold water
    2 cubes beef bouillon
    1 bay leaf
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. dried marjoram
    2 medium carrots, chopped
    2 stalks celery, chopped
Preparation
    Rinse dry green split peas.
    In a pot combine peas, cold water, beef bouillon, onion, bay leaf, pepper and marjoram.
    Bring to boiling.
    Reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer 1 hour.
    Stir occasionally.
    Stir in carrots and celery.
    Cover and simmer 30 minutes more.
    Season.
