Peared Up - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 fresh pears
    1 stick butter
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. dark Karo syrup
    1/4 c. brandy
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.
    Melt butter in baking dish and spread along bottom of dish.
    Peel, quarter and pare pears.
    Place pears cut side down on buttered baking dish.
    Mix Karo and brandy in separate bowl and pour over pears.
    Sprinkle with brown sugar. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
    Serve hot over vanilla ice cream.
    Serves 6.
