Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. cracker crumbs (1 sleeve)
    1/2 c. melted butter
    4 c. 1/4-inch thick sliced onions
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 1/2 c. milk, scalded
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Combine cracker crumbs and butter for crust.
    Press firmly into a 9-inch pie pan.
    Put onions in a heavy skillet.
    Add enough water to just cover them.
    Bring to a boil and simmer about 15 minutes or until onions are transparent.
    Drain well.
    Put into crust.
    Stir eggs into milk; pour over onions.
    Sprinkle cheese over top.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Makes 6 servings.
    It may be baked ahead of time and re-warmed.
