Vienna Chocolate Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    2 egg yolks
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 (10 oz.) jar raspberry or apricot jam
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits
    4 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. finely chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Cream butter, egg yolks and 1/2 cup sugar.
    Add flour, kneading with fingers to form dough.
    Pat dough into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Spread the base with jam.
    Top with chocolate bits.
    Beat egg whites with salt until stiff.
    Fold in sugar and nuts.
    Spread mixture on top of jam.
    Bake about 25 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Makes 30 bars.
