Basic "Scratch" Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, room temperature
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
    2 c. sifted cake flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter in a mixing bowl and gradually add sugar.
    Beat until fluffy.
    Beat eggs one at a time.
    Separately mix dry ingredients and gradually alternate dry mixture, milk and vanilla mixture.
    Mix until well blended.
