Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter or oleo
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. mashed ripe bananas
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 c. tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    2 eggs, separated
    1/2 c. chopped nuts, dredged in flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter, add 2 egg yolks and beat well.
    Add bananas, combine flour with soda and salt, add alternately with buttermilk.
    Add vanilla and nuts; fold in 2 stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 in two 9-inch cake pans for 30 minutes. Frost with unsweetened whipped cream.
