Popcorn Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. heavy cream
    1/3 c. white corn syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/3 tsp. soda
    12 c. popped corn
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Combine granulated sugar, cream, white corn syrup, butter. Cook until it will spin a thread or 234\u00b0.
    Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and soda.
    Pour over 12 cups popcorn at once.
    Pack into ungreased tube pan.
    After this sets, turn out and decorate as desired with candy corn, nutmeats, gumdrops and other candy.
