Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    2 c. sifted plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 can or 1 c. flaked coconut
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream margarine, shortening and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.
    Add vanilla, coconut and nuts.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Bake in 3 round pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool and frost.
