Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce or red leaf lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    4 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
    10 oz. pkg. frozen peas, thawed
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1 onion, diced or 3 green onions, chopped
    8 slices bacon, fried and crumbled or ham, chopped
    4 oz. cheese, grated
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into small bite size pieces.
    Place in large salad bowl.
    Arrange celery, eggs, peas, pepper, onion and meat in layers.
    Mix mayonnaise and sugar.
    Spread over top of lettuce mixture, spreading to edge of bowl.
    Sprinkle cheese on top. Better if it stands in fridge overnight.
    When you serve, reach to bottom to get some of each layer.
