Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
    3/4 c. unsalted, sweet butter
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix per directions on the box.
    Melt caramels, butter and milk over low heat until melted and smooth.
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Liberally grease a 9 x 12-inch cake pan, preferably glass.
    Pour 1/2 cake batter into the pan and bake for 15 minutes. Pour caramel mixture over the top and bake for 10 minutes. Sprinkle pecans and chocolate chips evenly over the top; add rest of batter and bake for 20 minutes or until pick comes out clean of cake batter (you will see some melted chocolate and caramel so watch the cake carefully).
