Date Pinwheels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream butter; add sugars, vanilla and egg.
    Beat until light. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well.
    Chill until firm enough to roll.
    Half dough.
    Roll each half on floured wax paper into a 12 x 9-inch rectangle.
    Spread with filling; roll up tightly from end.
    Wrap in paper; chill overnight.
    Slice 1/8-inch thick.
    Bake on lightly greased cookie sheets in 375\u00b0 oven for about 10 minutes.
