Easter Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. granulated sugar
    3 c. canned milk
    1 c. Karo
    1/2 lb. candied cherries
    1/2 lb. candied pineapple
    1 lb. English walnuts, shelled
Preparation
    Mix sugar, milk and Karo until well blended.
    Cook to soft ball stage, stirring constantly with wooden spoon.
    Remove from heat. Beat by hand or with electric mixer until mixture cools.
    Add fruits and nuts.
    Pour into pan lightly greased with butter.
    Cut into squares when candy begins to get firm.
    Store in refrigerator.
