Seven-Minute Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    2 egg whites, beaten
    1 Tbsp. white corn syrup
    1/3 c. water
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients in top of double boiler and mix well.
    Place over simmering water and beat with rotary beater 7 to 10 minutes or until mixture holds stiff peaks.
    Remove from heat and blend in vanilla.
    Makes enough to frost two 9-inch layer cakes.
