Homemade Meat Loaf - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 to 2 lb. ground beef
1 egg
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 bay leaves
1 rib celery, chopped
1 Tbsp. margarine
3/4 c. quick oats
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. sage
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
Preparation

Brown onion, celery and garlic in margarine. Set aside to cool.
Mix meat, oats, eggs, spices and half of the tomato sauce. Add onion, celery and garlic.
Mold into loaf.
Place in a pan and pour remaining sauce over top.
Lay bay leaves on top. Sprinkle additional pepper and basil over all. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until firm to touch.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Remove bay leaves.
