Yelton'S Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. Yelton's self-rising corn meal
1 egg
1 minced onion
1/4 c. milk (preferably sour)
3 Tbsp. hot, melted shortening

Preparation

Add well beaten egg and milk to meal.
Add hot shortening and onion just before frying.
Drop by tablespoons into hot, deep fat. Fry to a golden brown.
