Oyster Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. fresh oysters
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 qt. milk
    1 small can evaporated milk
Preparation
    Drain
    liquid off oysters and add 2 tablespoons water or omit water
    and\tdo not drain off oyster broth.\tPut in pot and heat to boiling.
    Add
    salt,
    pepper
    and\tcook for 5 minutes. Stir in butter
    and
    cook
    1
    minute.
    Bring
    to boil; pour in milks, stirring
    constantly.
    Do
    not boil after adding milks. Heat just to boiling point and remove from burner.
    Serve while hot with saltines and seasoning salt.
