Helen'S Liver Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef stew meat
    1 small beef bone
    2 large onions, diced
    3 c. water
    salt and pepper
    1 lb. beef or calves liver
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1 Tbsp. ground sage
Preparation
    Put first 3 ingredients in pot with water, salt and pepper; cook until tender.
    Remove meat.
    Remove ligaments, etc. from liver; chop finely but do not grind.
    Mix dry ingredients with liver and enough beef broth to make a soft dough.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls into boiling broth.
    Cover and cook slowly for about 30 minutes.
