Cinnamon Crisps Or Elephant Ears - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. milk, scalded
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    about 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 egg
    1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
    1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients; stir until shortening melts.
    Cool to 105\u00b0 to 115\u00b0.
    Combine 2 cups flour and yeast.
    Add milk mixture and egg to dry ingredients, mixing at low mixer speed.
    Beat 30 seconds on low speed.
    Scrape bowl and beat 3 minutes at high speed.
    Stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough (1 to 1 1/2 cups).
    Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place (85\u00b0), free from drafts, 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
    Combine 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
    Divide in half.
    Set aside.
