Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix, prepared according to pkg. directions
    1 (14 oz.) bag caramels, unwrapped
    1/2 c. condensed milk
    3/4 c. margarine
    2 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix and pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Bake 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Meanwhile, melt margarine in saucepan over low heat and add caramels, stirring constantly.
    Mix with condensed milk and pour over baked layer. Sprinkle with 1 cup nuts and chocolate chips.
    Pour remaining batter over caramel layer and sprinkle with remaining nuts.
    Bake for an additional 20 minutes.
    Cool and cut into squares.
