Cherry-Skillet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 (No. 2) can pitted red cherries and juice
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. lemon extract
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 layer baked white cake
Preparation

Blend sugar and cornstarch in 9-inch skillet, add cherries, juice, salt and extracts.
Cook over low flame, stirring constantly 3 minutes, or until juice is thick and clear.
Place cake layer on top of mixture, cover, continue cooking over very low flame for 5 minutes or until cake is heated through.
Invert on serving plate and serve with whipped cream.
