Cherry Salad(Congealed) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can tart pie cherries
    1 #2 can crushed pineapple
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 6 oz. box cherry jello
    chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients and bring to a boil.
    Remove from heat and stir in jello until dissolved.
    Add about 1/2 cups chopped pecans, if desired.
    Put in jello mold or 8 x 8 pyrex dish.
    Chill until set.
    Very good compliment to deer soup.
    Serves 9. (Easily doubled or tripled for a big deer soup feast.)
