Harvard Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine (optional)
    4 c. diced beets
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cornstarch.
    Add water and vinegar.
    Boil 5 minutes.
    Add butter and beets.
    Simmer 8 to 10 minutes.
