Oleta Houston'S Dill Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 qt. water
2 qt. white vinegar
1 c. canning salt
1 heaping tsp. dill seed (per qt.)
1/8 tsp. alum (per qt.)
1 clove garlic (per qt.)
hot peppers (if desired)
Preparation

Bring the water, vinegar and salt to a boil. Wash and dry cucumbers and pack in clean jars. Drop alum into each jar along with garlic, dill and hot peppers, if desired.
Pour hot mixture over cucumbers and seal.
