Peas And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. peas
    2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. butter
Preparation
    Heat peas in frypan with 2 cups water.
    In heavy pan, heat together 1 cup water, salt and shortening.
    When boiling, dump in flour and baking powder, mixed.
    Beat over fire until stiff enough to come loose from sides of pan and all stick together.
    Remove from fire; add eggs one at a time, beating in each egg well.
    Drop by teaspoonful into boiling peas.
    When all are in, dot with butter.
    Cover and cook 12 minutes.
    Serve at once.
