Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
1 c. sweet milk
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Divide milk.
Add 1/2 teaspoon baking powder to 1/2 cup milk.
Add remaining 1/2 teaspoon baking powder to flour and sift together.
Add flour alternately with remaining 1/2 cup milk, to the butter-sugar mixture.
Add baking powder-milk mixture after all dry ingredients have been blended.
Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or until cake tests done.
