Creamed Ham And Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    about 1 1/2 c. diced leftover ham
    1/3 c. lard or shortening
    1/3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    dash pepper
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 small can mushrooms
    1 Tbsp. grated onion
    2 Tbsp. diced green pepper
Preparation
    Melt shortening, then add flour, salt and pepper and stir until smooth.
    Add milk slowly, and cook until thick, stirring constantly.
    Add ham, mushrooms with juice, onion and green pepper.
    Heat thoroughly.
    Serve on biscuits, toast, rice or noodles.
    Serves 6 to 8.
